What is the evidence that "god" is actually good, despite him being evil?

The "God" of Abrahamism is a throughly evil character - but some people still insist on calling him good. Are they maniacs, or is there actual evidence for "His" benevolence?

There is absolutely NO evidence, rather than *all* evidence being the contrary (but watch while the brainwashed disagree below, or cite ‘evidence’ while not really answering your question rather than trying to convert.) They are maniacs, cultists, danger to society, etc., as history shows.

God does not do good because He is God. Since God is incapable of evil, anything God does is good by definition. Simply because we diminutive humans don't get it, doesn't mean it isn't good.

I've said this before. The Bible, the Word of God, and the acts of God therein, make sense ONLY if one reads it with the understanding that:

    1. There is a God

    2. It is not the reader

    3. God acts with justice

Any other contextual reading is based on the presumptuous idea that humans can judge and evaluate God (reread Job). It is not intended for those who do not believe.

It has been said that the entire Bible is one long name for God—“In the beginning was the Word.” How can the reader understand God’s name if he or she does not believe God exists? Consequently, the Bible’s ideas and content are outside the non-believing reader’s paradigm of reality, and cannot be understood. Worse, it will be rejected as nonsense.

1 John 4:8 God is Love. As love being his greatest quality then it is safe to say God is good as well.

Jesus is the evidence of God's love and goodness and it was displayed on the cross. Have you never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Jesus- if God was not good he would not have given us the way to come to him.

The Bible is the Word of God. Read the Bible, have faith.

    Bad human logic.

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts

    Isaiah 55:8-9

For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
