What does have Jesus have to do with Easter?

What do bunnies and coloring eggs have to do with Easter? Well, Walmart needs something to draw customers in.

Bunnies and eggs are how the unbelieving world celebrates Spring. It has nothing to do with the reason Christians celebrate Easter.

Easter is the celebration of Jesus's resurrection. That's what Jesus has to do with Easter. I don't know about the bunnies and eggs, but it's like Santa Clause at Christmas. I guess so everyone can have a holiday, even if they're not Christian.

Nothing. Eggs and rabbits, or rather hares, are symbols of fertility which is what you would expect at a Spring festival. The Jesus death cult hijacked it and tagged on their myth about the dead coming back to life.

No it doesn't make sense. It is unfair how Jesus has hijacked the bunnies and egg painting with his own Easter agenda of brutality and death.

We should keep Easter as it always has been so it is suitable for children.

When the Italians were Christianized, they still loved the pagan celebrations of their many gods (that were not gods).

One of those gods was Ishtar the god of fertility. The signs for fertility were rabbits (because they are so furtile) and eggs (for obvious reasons).

Ishtar was a god of lust and sex. The word 'Easter' is a take on the word Ishtar.

The Jewish passover commemorates the Jews being freed from slavery. It is a picture of what Jesus did on the cross when He freed us from our slavery to sin.

Real Christians don't great each other with 'Happy Easter'. We say 'He is risen!'
