Can someone drop off Penske truck that didn t pick it up?
So I m moving from one state to another and I m using a Penske truck. But I got my license stolen recently and it s an out of state license, I already put in for a replacement but it could take up to 4 weeks to get here and I m moving in a week. I was thinking I could find someone to pick up the truck for me, but they wouldn t be the ones dropping it off. So I was wondering what Penske would do if someone dropped off the truck without their name on file. Or any suggestions in helping me out.

There needs to be a valid drivers license on file with Penske. That is the named driver for the truck, no one else is covered on the insurance. Use your paper temporary and something else that identifies you. Call Penskeand ask what to bring.

g is right about not being authorized to drive the truck, but the return procedure does not require identification from the driver.
Still, your best play is to return it yourself. You still have a valid license, you just don't have it with you. At worst you will be pulled over for some reason and ticketed, although the officer will quickly find you - assuming you are telling the truth about who you are - have a valid license. The smart way to bet is you will not be disturbed while you return the truck and a friend will pick you up.

You can identify your self in several ways. A photo Id, a work badge, birth certificate a SS card. They may not ask anyhow.

They want their truck, not the person. As long as it get's paid for they'll be happy.

Only if that "someone" was added as a secondary driver to the original truck rental agreement. Otherwise, if you allow someone to drive the vehicle who was not listed as a driver on the agreement there would be a breech of contract which the rental agency could highly penalize you for allowing.
Bottom line, no one can legally drive the vehicle unless they are added to the rental agreement.
