What does this German word or saying mean in English? It sounds like "oc-toe-libre"?

I was watching a WWII movie and this saying came up.

I'm the third person (learned German, thoroughly...) that thinks that you are probably hearing 'ach, du lieber!' also...

Ach du lieber! is a shortened form of Ach du lieber Himmel! or Ach du lieber Gott! and translates as:Oh my God!orGood Heavens!.

What you're hearing is "Ach du Leiber!" It's "Oh, my God!" in German.
