Could Donald Trump cause a 9/11 scale attack on American Soil?

If he wants to become a dictator like his idol and master Putin, he needs a Reichstag Fire. I wouldn't put it past him to either let an attack happen, or stage one. Bush/Cheney let 9/11 happen.

Yes, and it would not surprise me if he did.

The only thing that can "cause" a terrorist attack is the decision by a terrorist or terrorists to commit one; however, I believe Trump's rhetoric and policies can and do cause undue anxiety and fear in certain groups of people. The accumulation of these feelings can "cause" some people to think violent behavior in response is a legitimate choice of action. Trump is not completely unlike an abusive father of several children. One of those children may finally "get tired of" the abuse one day and do something drastic and/or tragic. The worse the abuse, the more understandable the violent or harsh reaction.

I can easily see someone, either a group or individual, becoming so angry with Trump that they plot a violent act of some kind or other in desperation. I could never, ever, condone the taking of innocent civilian lives, but anyone who thinks all violent actions are wrong is historically ignorant. One of our greatest presidents led a righteous and very violent response against the heinous and unconscionable policies of the American South (You should've chopped your own cotton!) and ended slavery. The Christian pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer participated in a conspiracy to assassinate Adolf Hitler and paid with his life. Resistance fighters in Europe shot people, blew things up, and committed sundry "crimes" in their pursuit of destroying the Nazis, who viewed them as terrorists.

Trump is nowhere near the level of demagoguery as an Adolph Hitler, as much as I might think he admires such types of strongmen, so I cannot condone or support violence against him or his administration's policies. Other, less circumspect, individuals, however, may one day decide a line in their own heads has been crossed.
