Very rarely. I pick up a freebie if going on a train journey. My other half commutes by train so he sometimes buys the Guardian or independent to read as mobile connection can be pretty poor on a train or underground

Actually READ a newspaper? Are you kidding... is this a joke? First, they're now printed with blatant grammatical and spelling errors... they must skimip on editing personnel. Then, they are repeat of what you can find on any Online source. Or they copy, word-for-word, from other so-called newspapers... most of it blatant opinions passed off as fact, with no source of information given. I'd rather sleep on an airplane or train ride, or enjoy a book. Besides, being distracted in public or in a subway platform or subway train or onboard a bus is a dangerous proposition today with so many wackos on the loose attacking people minding their own business. Newspapers...? Bah, Humbug!

It's portable, cheap and you can write on it and number one reason---you don't need a computer.
Also, you can use the newspaper to pack and ship things in the mail.

If I find an abandoned paper at work I'll read it for five minutes then put it back but I'd never buy one.
