Believers, how do you think that astrology works?
I am a total sceptic about astrology and horoscopes, I believe they have no value at all other than a moment's fun, but I try to be open-minded and to respect the views of others, I know that many people I regard as otherwise sensible do believe in them and so I am trying to understand more. I would like to know how those who do believe in astrology believe that far distant stars and planets exert their influence on humanity. Is it based on a belief that we are influenced by some force like gravity or electro-magnetism, or the emission of particles like photons, protons or neutrinos? I've asked a substantially similar question in the past but didn't get any answers which helped. Just to be clear. Personally I do not believe in astrology in any shape or form, but am asking those who do believe how they think the stars exert an influence on us. So "it's all rubbish" responses are not informative.
No answers that helped me understand how it might affect us or predict anything. I guess I'm just not wired to be able to relate to astrology.

" Personally I do not believe in astrology in any shape or form" comes from the fact you're seeing astrology as something to do with what you see in Star Trek or something like that. Nobody knows why it works, or how it works but one day science "will" catch up. The position of "all of the planets" in our solar system "at our precise moment of birth", (and that includes the time of day of birth), in some way give us inner needs which will, in some way, be met by us. If we learn to understand how to handle these inner needs then it really doesn't matter about our planetary placements but when they control us because we pay no heed that's when they can rule our life.
Take it or leave it; I really don't care whether you're able to open your brain up to it.

People think astrology has something to do with science with is false it's more of a spiritual thing than science if you believe in astrology you have to believe in karma which goes back to the vedas.

It is the study of the stars. We have planetary bodies as well that make up one body, or more like a spiritual and a planetary body. If you read astrology, there are little tips and tricks you can learn for your life along the way.

Edit: Just got a 5 star best answer with a generic 'reading'. The asker said he was shocked and I was nearly 100% on the description. People don't have the natural curiosity of how astrology works. In fact proud they don't want to know. Just so it seems to work for them.

Rocky planets, lifeless planets do not interfere with our lives or our choices.
There is no scientific explanation of 1 + 1 = 2 that proves that astrology is truthful and reliable
