Have you ever heard of a place called "Shakey's Pizza?"?

A few years ago when I worked for HyVee, a co-worker told me about a place that used to be on the West Side of Des Moines called: "Shakey's Pizza." He said he and his friends used to go there all the time to hang out. He said it had a huge buffet with everything you could think of. He said it had pizza, chicken, mashed potatoes, fries, ice cream, etc. He said it had a huge arcade game room as well. He said it was the best place ever. I did some research and found out that that very place he was talking about has been gone since 1995. Has anyone ever been there or remember it?

Arlington,Texas had Shakey's from sometime prior to 1968 until, maybe ,1978.They had a banjo player and old silent comedies ran on the screen. It was a galley type, with long tables and benches. Also,a little later, was Straw Hat Pizza, which has also ,come and gone.

I didn't know they still existed. We had them in Orlando when I was growing up in the 70s, best thin crust pizza around.

Not only was it in a South Park episode, but there is a Shakey's I have dined at in Fairplay (the town South Park is based off of)

Yeah I went there a lot as a kid. It's like a budget Chuckie Cheese's with bad pizza. They do have these bomb potato wedge things tho

Absolutely. We use to go there twice a week. back in 1976 in Fairfield Calif. right down the way from Travis AFB. However, we did not have a huge buffet, chicken, spuds, or anything as you describe, but then again, this was back in the 70s. They had the best Pizza back then.
