Can VEGANS eat PORK RINDS?

I understand that veganism is the practice of not consuming animal products. Is a pork rind an animal? I understand that pork is in the name of the food, but I can't confirm what a pork rind is actually made of. Is it like a potato, some kind of dough? Please help, I'm curious about veganism, but I don't want to give up my pork rindS!!!

Yes. Unbeknownst to most people the PORK in Pork Rinds is actually an acronym for Processed Okra. It's a manufacturing method whereby Okra (a vegetable) is finely chopped, cold pressed and then rolled into sheets. These sheets are then bound together with seaweed extract to form Pork Rinds.

I'm a longtime dedicated vegan and leader in this forum.

pork rind is the skin off the pork, rendered (oil boiled out) and salted. It IS part of the animal.

Only a troll would be this stupid.

So, yeah. Pork rinds are totally vegan despite having the word "PORK" in the name. That must mean that PORK is vegan, so go get yourself a rack of ribs and enjoy the vegan goodness!

Pork Rind IS pork skin, so yes it is an animal product and a true vegan would not eat it.
