Jesus said?

Jesus said in the book of Luke to a thief he was being crucified next to him after the thief repented he told him "Today you will be with me in paradise" Does that mean going to heaven or does it mean something else I would especially like to hear from The Jehovah's witnesses Thanks in advance

The biblical expression 'Garden of Eden" can also be translated as "Paradise of Pleasure"

    *** Rbi8 Genesis 2:8 ***

“A garden [or, park] in Eden.” Heb., gan-beʽEʹdhen (“Eden,” meaning “Pleasure; Delight”); LXXBagster(Gr.), pa·raʹdei·son en E·demʹ; Lat., pa·ra·diʹsum vo·lu·ptaʹtis, “paradise of pleasure.”

This is the only 'Paradise' the evil doer would have had in mind, when Jesus promised him "You will be with me in Paradise"

The promises this man would have had were from the Hebrew Scriptures which promise:

(Psalm 37:9-11)  9 For evil men will be done away with, But those hoping in Jehovah will possess the earth. ו [Waw] 10 Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:29) 29 The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.

(Proverbs 2:21, 22) 21 For only the upright will reside in the earth, And the blameless will remain in it. 22 As for the wicked, they will be cut off from the earth, And the treacherous will be torn away from it.

(Isaiah 35:1, 2) 35 The wilderness and the parched land will exult, And the desert plain will be joyful and blossom as the saffron.  2 Without fail it will blossom; It will rejoice and shout for joy. The glory of Lebʹa·non will be given to it, The splendor of Carʹmel and of Sharʹon. They will see the glory of Jehovah, the splendor of our God. 5 At that time the eyes of the blind will be opened, And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.  6 At that time the lame will leap like the deer, And the tongue of the speechless will shout for joy. For waters will burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert plain.  7 The heat-parched ground will become a reedy pool,

And the thirsty ground springs of water. In the lairs where jackals rested, There will be green grass and reeds and papyrus.

Also read Isa 65 & 66 for many more wonderful promises that will come about when the earth is again a Paradise of Pleasure.

No, he said "truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise." Where you put the comma makes all the difference.

JW's are cult, do not listen to them. They modified the bible and made their own version NWT. Charles Taze Russell who founded the Jehovah's Witnesses. He prophesied the world would end in 1914.

Read the Bible (NKJV) instead and know the truth.
