Ramen noodles cannot be cooked?

Ok I just do not undestand the logic behind this. I am looking at the back of this cup and it says cook for 2-4 minutes. Let me repeat. 2-4 minutes. That is negative 2. Two minus four is negative two. HOW DO YOU COOK SOMETHING FOR NEGATIVE MINUTES LONG? Am I reading this the wrong way? Last time it said bake a pizza for 15-18 minutes. HOW DO YOU COOK SOMETHING IN NEGATIVE 3 MINUTES? I have all A's in all of my classes and I am very smart. But I just cant figure this negative baking thing. Someone help.

Cooks have a different mind set from math people! You have a wrong way of looking at that " - " sign!! It means " to " to cooks as in cook 2 - 4 minutes means 2 to 4 minutes. and the pizza means 15 to 18 minutes.

Ok, now go read some cook books or recipe sites and learn some of the other things that will make no sense to your math mind.

From 2 to 4 minutes...the dash is in lieu of the word "to".  So you'd cook the ramen from two to four minutes (or until done).  Same for the pizza.

It means "between 2 and 4 minutes". But never mind. If your English comprehension is that poor, it's probably better if you don't cook anything that comes with instructions.

cook from 2 minutes to 4 minutes. or somewhere in between. it's a reccomendation, really. just cook it for 3 minutes.
