I just love their energy and how they're like estatic to be with me and the way they move so frantically makes me feel loved :p

OOOYEAH..I LOVE all 8 of my ratties (6 girls & 2 boys)...I worked at 2 pet stores & I got bit a lot by hamsters, ferrets, gerbils, etc, but very rarely by a rat. I m known as the "Crazy Rat Lady" (or "CRL"!) or the "Rat Whisperer" (Ha!Ha!)...I have a little pet cemetary in the corner of our yard where my ratties go to rest when they cross the "rainbow bridge". I will never be without at least 2 ratties in my life :) Linda

Well, I certainly loved all of my rodents, and obvious they loved me. I don't idolize ratties, but would love and care for a pet.
Even my little mouse and I had a bond so strong we were like inseparable. Smart too, I wondered if I even needed a cage for him.

I don't know. I had a squirrel and he was just like you describe your rats and i loved him. I don't know if it can be the same with a rat
