How would you feel if you were catfished?
I know the first reaction is anger. Reasonably so. But would any of you feel compassion or anything like that

I probably wouldn't have trusted them completely in the first place.
Unless I saw them moving on social media that involves a camera,
I would not necessarily believe they were real, especially if they looked really attractive.
Yes. I would be mad. And I definitely wouldn't want to meet them.
Anyone who would do that must have really faulty reasoning.
If they just wanted to be friends, they should know that I don't care
how they look. If they wanted more than friends, what do they think
would happen if we met? It would be obvious that wasn't
them, and that they deceived me.

Anybody who gets the best of me, only lets me know I still have things to learn.
It use to hurt, until I realized it was just MY EMBARRASSMENT...
Not Their Accomplishment.
I'm NOT the best, but every mistake I learn from, gets me closer and closer.

I have been catfished before. My first reaction was disappointment honestly - not so much anger. I thought I had found someone I was not only attracted to but who I enjoyed chatting with as well, and that turned out to not be true. After that I DID feel compassion for the person. I felt sorry for her that she had such low self-esteem that she thought she had to portray herself as someone else in order to talk to the kinds of guys she wanted to talk to. We live in a very superficial world and the reality is that if you are unattractive, it is very likely that you will have a difficult and lonely life. And although life's not fair and that may be just the way it is - if you are one of those people, that could be a hard pill to swallow.

It happened to me over a decade ago and I was pissed, but it only went for a few months until I figured out what was happening. Not cool. Not cool.
