    If the "employer has you chained up in his basement ( like libs claimed Walmart was doing,) then you are actually a slave, so the min wage wudnt apply anyway.

    Can any liberal show how a forced wage benefits the country?

    That would mean direct subsidy to businesses that have such poor business models that they have to treat their employees like virtual slaves. Taxpayers will kick in to keep the poorly-paid employees from starving...

    So you think it's fair for employers to exploit employees, keep them poor, and have people working full time unable to support themselves? Shades of Scrooge! In fact, that's exactly why Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist- to bring light to the harshness of policies in Victorian England that kept most people poor and struggling- and unable to provide health care to their families. Most of us consider ourselves more enlightened now.

    Or you could go live in Brazil, where the few rich people live in walled communities to protect themselves from the starving masses outside.
