what is its radius of curvature?

n alpha particle is essentially a helium-4 nucleus, and as such has a charge of +2e and a mass of 6.6 x 10-27 kg. If one is accelerated by a voltage of 3986 V perpendicularly through a uniform 0.387 T magnetic field, what is its radius of curvature?

Kinetic energy after being accelerated by voltage V is qV where q = charge. Set equal to (1/2)mv^2, solve for v.

Magnetic force provides the centripetal force, so set qvB = mv^2/r. Solve for r.
