In a school election, one candidate for class president received more than 94% , but less that 100% , of the votes cast. What is the least possible number of votes cast.
I am so confused, any help is very much appreciated! Thanks in advance

94% of the votes will be at least one vote less than all of the votes. If v represents the number of votes cast, then
.. v -0.94v ≥ 1
.. 0.06v ≥ 1
.. v ≥ 1/0.06
.. v ≥ 16 2/3
The minimum number of votes cast is 17.

The class president got 16/17 votes, or 94.1%, as a minimum.
