Which era did Americans feel the most and least patriotic?

Basically what I mean is which era where Americans felt proud to be American and which era where Americans were ashamed to be American. For example during the WW2 days Americans were filled with tons of pride. Same thing with the late Cold War days with Ronald Reagan and the early Cold War days during the late 40s and 50s. For the other half during the Vietnam War days and Nixon era people were ashamed of their nation and were embarrassed to be Americans and many even left the country. Same with the Great Depression era and today of the 21st century. Which of these eras or any era that I'm missing is where Americans felt the proudest or most ashamed?

America is 241 years old that is not a lot considering your hated enemies Russia and Iran are at least 25,000 years old Iran former Persia had a magnificent Empire and Russia had a magnificent time too they have two greats Peter and Catherine their buildings were wonders of the world yet you do not hear them boasting we won the war they are evil probably the great depression and the civil war were down times for America and surviving two world wars totally intact were the best so you lean to a military state which is not patriotic really its not really for the good is it the heart makes the heart proud like an American world champ legally no cheating the best

There is no way to measure "proudest" or "most ashamed." What criteria does one use to measure? Surveys were not taken regularly throughout history, so there is no answer. Anything would be a guess, because there is no quantitative benchmarks to measure National pride or embarrassment.
