adrian has a sweets, ben b & charlie c
total = t
a + b + c = t
a = 2b
c = 4/3 a = a + 26
1/3 a = 26
a = 78, b = 39, c = 104
t = 78 + 39 + 104 = 221

Let x be the total
Adrian got (6/17)x
Ben got (3/17) x
Charlie got (8/17) x
(6/17) x + 26 = (8/17) x
multiply both sides by 17
6x+ (26)(17) = 8x
2x = (26)(17)
x = (26)(17) /2
x = 221 (total)

(a,b,c) share s's in ratio 6:3:8. Then (a,b,c) gets (6x,3x,8x) s's. c got 26 more s's than a. Then 8x-6x = 26, ie.,
x = 13. Total # s's = 6x+3x+8x = 17x = 17*13 = (15-2)(15+2) = 225-4 = 221.
