There are compelling, common sense financial issues associated with the presence of transgender personnel in the military. The military should not be the vehicle for transgender personnel to seek out government funded gender reassignment surgery and the associated hormone therapy. The taxpayers should not be expected to foot that bill. We also don't need Soldiers who become medically nondeployable for a year or more, and can't perform their wartime functions, while they undergo voluntary, elective gender reassignment. These are facts that aren't rooted in bigotry.

    I disagree with your statement.

Disagree. It is the statement of someone with a closed mind and limited understanding of anything they disagree with.

Transgenderism is a mental disorder. Our troops deserve comrades who are mentally and physically fit.

"bigotry" has become the new "withcraft"...

At present, I'd agree. If somebody is willing to provide a fact-based answer, I'm willing to listen.

So far, I haven't heard a rational reason to do so. I was in the military, and we heard the same kind of arguments against allowing blacks (admittedly before my time) and women into the military.

Anyone who disagrees with me is a bigot too!

That statement is from a coward who is too scared and too weak to actually defend that position. It's the act of a crybaby trying to shut down a discussion before it happens.
