what is a "college essay" ? what should it include and to whom is it submitted ?

    For US universities

    Some universities require a student to submit a college essay to apply. It would be sent to the admissions office or attached to your application and sent via the internet.

    Some universities have a prompt question you must use. A college essay is a chance to tell the school something about yourself that they don't see on your transcript. It should be very well written.

    Some things my daughter and her friends wrote about-

    Having severe chronic asthma

    Coming from a bilingual family

    Travels outside of the USA

    Having an autistic brother
