Yahoo astrology category?

Does it bug you that astrology is listed under entertainment? Shouldn't it be listed under religion or science or something similar?? ;)

It bothers me that it's listed under "Horoscopes." Real astrology is not about 12 sun signs and your daily reading in the paper.

I'm a lot less bothered by what Yahoo does than I am with what goes in in any section. For example, I wander over to Religion and Spirituality from time to time and find the religion critics are at least as ignorant of religion as the astrology critics are of astrology.

YA might, and I repeat "might" because I have no inside information, place astrology in the Entertainment and music (music isn't entertainment?) section for legal reasons or just to avoid James Randi types and other neo-Nazis who not only hate astrology, but hate the idea that people are allowed to think about it and discuss it. This way YA can answer potential astrology-nazis by saying, "We put it in the entertainment section."

But since I consider what I damn well please without asking permission from the hate filled, let's discuss where else it could be put. Religion is out because it is not a religion. It isn't an exact science either. At best, and I'm not sure I would classify it as such, it is a "soft science" like psychology is a soft science. Critics like to use the pejorative: 'pseudo-science" but that isn't accurate either. Astrology doesn't pretend to be a science in the way they mean it.In fact the way astrology critics use the word "science," science should be in the religion section.

If I had my way, I'd probably put it as "Astrology" (not Horoscopes) in Society and Culture because I think that is the most accurate. The skeptics would howl, because that is all they know how to do, but look at the inherent hypocrisy. They claim it is in Entertainment and nothing more, happily relegate it to the Entertainment & Music Section, then they criticize people who want to talk about Entertainment. They're Nazis, pure and simple and as such can never, ever be satisfied with anything unless and until everyone thinks their way about everything.

It says horoscopes, not astrology. In the newspapers, they are in the same pages the comics. Yahoo has never changed the categories.

Astrology claim a physical effect of an instantaneous programming of our personalities. It doesn't show or explain how. But the excuse is astrology is a 'soft science'. That is wrong far more than it is right.

No it doesn't bother me, I think it gets the word out more since it's in a broad category

Astrology IS entertainment, and anyone who takes it seriously needs a job.

I don't care how many people will dislike this answer, believing anyone acts a certain way because of the time of year they were born is beyond silly.
