    Indeed "thousands" would be a reasonable general answer. There were two nuclear bombs among all those thousands of conventional bombs..

    Just two. The size and range of the bombers themselves and the fact they could not land on a carrier in return the possibility of mores. the nearest airfield I recall was Okinawa or China
