What are your thoughts?: "Patriotism is believing that your country is better than every other country, because you were born there."?

I don't remember where I saw this quote but I think it is somewhat relevant to hot topic issues today. What are your thoughts? All views are welcome to comment.

Patriotism: the quality of being patriotic; vigorous support for one's country.

Patriotic: having or expressing devotion to and vigorous support for one's country.

Your quote does touch on a kind of "irrationality" of patriotism: No one had any control over the country in which they were born. This is a fundamental flaw of any kind of racial superiority as well: No one "chose" their race. To condemn other people purely along racial lines is to blaspheme God: It is calling something evil that God created good. In a very logical way, the only people who really have a "right" to be patriotic are those who choose to move here and become citizens, making America their home. THEY have something to do about it; the rest of us did not.
