HELP MATH?
assign a number to each month--jan is 1, feb is 2, etc--the day of the month that i was born in is more than 4 times the month that i was born in. if i was born on the 28th of the month, in which month was i born in
i think it is 4x+4=28 is the equation for the problem...which would be the month of June or x=6 for the birth month. Please tell me if this is wrong

Why would you add another 4? It says nowhere to do that.
So divide with 4
7 > x
or x is any month from 1 to 6, so January to June.
The question of which specific month is impossible to answer without more info. Had it been "equal to" instead of "more than", it would be an equation (with an = sign like you said but without the extra 4) and x = 7 (July).
