What if we lived in a country with no government?

    You would then live in a country filled with anxiety and anarchy.

    It wouldn't be a country then - the term "country" implies there is a political entity in control.

    But the whole "no government" concept is a non-starter. There will always be some kind of "government" that will have political control, whether it is a Constitution-based Republic.or the criminal gang of a strongman or warlord.

    Additionally, if there were to be a land without government, there would be nothing to stop nearby countries from taking it over.

    The whole anarchy concept, much like the "real" communism of the classroom, cannot exist in reality.

    Somalia was like that until relatively recently. It wasn't that great a place at the time.

    Then again, with nobody to coordinate the health system, maintain law and order, build roads, or schools, or indeed to stop warlords springing up and fighting each other with civilians caught in the crossfire.

    Basically, it sounds exactly like the sort of place I wouldn't want to be in. By no means is everything the government does perfect, not even close, but the idea that having a government at all is a bad thing, is not one that makes much sense.
