I can't seem to find work closer to my home and my county. I'm not sure how

Depending on time of day & traffic jams, it will take you a MINIMUM of 2-3 hrs each way to get to work. If you get a job in Santa Monica, you cannot live in Barstow. Even Pasadena is really too far to commute due to traffic!

That's much too far. You'll spend at least 5 hrs a day just commuting. Unless you can move closer to the job, I think you should pass.

And the wear and tear on your car..
the increased servicing ...
the cost of gas...
and you being tired.
now maybe if you go down Monday... stay somewhere 4 nights and come back Friday... it would work/ be less tiring.
if you go talk to any (even cheap/La Quinta etc) hotel and ask about long term rates..
For guaranteed occupancy (even 3 or 4 out of 7 days) they will do a deal
There is often discount cards or business cards, and you have extra points (free nights) and/or discounts.
But every day... you will get worn out over time..

How long is that commute? 2.5 hours? How much longer is that than your current commute? This is CA, and you're famous for your traffic, so I can't assume your current commute is 1.5 hours, when it might be two. If this commute, for example, is only a half hour longer, and the job is significantly better, then maybe. But then you need to figure out if you can really do this.
You'd need to do the math to figure out how much you'd spend in gas, tolls, any increase in maintenance costs, and see if you can afford this far away job. Then you'd need to decide whether or not you can do that commute, realistically.
If you're a single person, no kids, so it's only you this effects... or do you have kids/a family it would also affect - and how it might impact them. Stuff to think about.
Are you tied to Barstow? Can you move? Or (what some of the people where I live do) do you think you might be able to get a crash pad near your work, so you can stay there even just a couple of nights per week, to cut the commute? Here, they'll get a local apartment with a bunch of others from their work or from other nearby employers. Sometimes, they take it in shifts - so you'd stay there M Tu nights, someone else W and Th nights, etc. And a decent number of people stay there to cut costs.
One idea is to actually do the drive as a test. Do it in the vehicle you plan to use. Ideally, do it at the hour you plan to commute (but if that's not possible, just do it.) See how you feel after driving there and, after maybe a couple hours break, then back.
But if you had other options, I'd tell you no, don't take this job. It's too far away. But if you hate your current job with the passion of a thousand suns, and there are absolutely no jobs closer to you, and you think you can make it work, then... maybe. There are people here in my region who do this length of a commute every day. So it's do-able. Just not pleasant.

I'm not willing to be in the car more than 45 mins for a job, no matter how wonderful it is.
If it is fantastic, I would move.
