What is it with men these days, and their constant lack of manners when it comes to women?

Either online, or in person dating, men these days (pretty sure there are some good ones out there, so no offense to THEM) are nothing but selfish jerks who just want to tell you how sexy you are, just so that they can get something if you know what I mean. Why do men do that, instead of putting in the effort to actually get to know the woman they find hot, or attractive, and possibly have a long time friend, girlfriend, or potential wife? If I was a dude, I wouldn't play with a woman's heart. That sucks to be toyed with, so why is it that this day and age has to be the day and age of single women, simply because men are animals anymore? Almost half tempted to start dating women.
