Did you have a job offer? That's really a big part. Your language skills aren't great (it's ineligible, and you taught at universities - you probably thought as well, but no one gets points for that...) The other answer is right in noting there's enough underemployed graduate students and even PhDs teaching sessional work already, so coming here without a job would likely mean you'd be looking for work in another domain pretty quickly.

If you have a PhD for real, you can read and interpret the points system easily for what else you need.
And you could have been rejected for other reasons. We're not CIC, we have no idea. For example, if you have a violent criminal record or are on a terrorism watch list, you can have 1200 of 1200 points, you're not getting in.

No one here knows enough about you to say, and we certainly haven't read any paperwork relating to your case. This is NOT the place to ask.
However, one thing I can tell you is that most western countries don't need more university instructors. They don't have enough jobs for the citizens with PhDs. They also have plenty of economists already.
You'd have to find a university or other employer that felt your particular area of specialization within economics was needed on its staff. That would require looking for available jobs calling for your skills and knowledge and submitting a CV with impressive publications and experience. Then, you could get a work visa, which could be a path to citizenship.
