Are you really asking if science is a political movement? Ugh... Of course not! First of all, scientists have been around for hundreds of years before there even was a "left" or a "right". Studying weather and the laws of nature has nothing to do with politics! This "JimZ" is probably a rightist who also happens to think the Earth is flat. He probably thinks that if he discredits science as "politics", then fairies and gremlins will become credible sources of information! I'm sorry for blowing up like that, but no, science is not a political movement. It is just research.

I do not agree that physics is a leftist cause.

However, there is a significant section of the leftists who are concerned about the environment and who would join environmental groups of all kinds. Those people, if they were interested in science, may well gravitate towards subjects that explain "the environment". Atmospheric science and meteorology would certainly fit.

Many hard leftists have realised that environmental groups contain an untapped source of useful idiots. Why put on a demonstration with only 20 people smashing windows when you can have a 2,000 people demo with 20 smashing windows? These lower echelons are often completely genuine in their love of nature but they are being subverted by those with an agenda.

Funding comes from various sources. Either you can just be rich like the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Soros and Steyer. Or you can set up foundations like Tides or infiltrate the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation etc. Another alternative is to get money from the government either by buying congressmen or by infiltrating the EPA who use government funds to get someone to sue them so they can say to the government that there is a problem can we have some money, please.

Note: When I say "buying congressmen" I am not suggesting any impropriety. If, say, you had signed off the sale of 20% of US uranium production and, quite coincidentally, received several massive payments from the buyers into your foundation for purely altruistic reasons, that would be perfectly legal and above board.

I absolutely agree with JimZ (I nearly always do) but you are grossly mis-characterizing what he (I) claimed. Honestly I can't remember when he said something I disagree with. The man must be a genius...He may get under the skin of leftists but it seems to me that he is just trying to hit the political tennis ball back into the other court. Sometimes he may hit a bit hard but that is usually only when he has to field a wild shot from the other. JimZ is a pretty decent tennis player too. He doesn't like letting too many hard shots get past him.

Leftist causes are causes that are anti-human, anti-free markets, and anti-freedom,,,. They have been diluting our protections that were guaranteed in the Constitution. Lately, they are behind the lies that result in sheep not standing for the national anthem at NFL games because Leftists need racism to help push their anti-American ideology. I'm a huge football fan and these jackasses are ruining the game.

Politics has nothing to do with science but there have been wacko leftists mostly since the fall of the Soviet Union (but some before) that moved into the environmental movements to push their ideology and it apparently wasn't too difficult to get a bunch sheep to help them.

Sadly we had a couple of communists in the Manhattan Project, leftist communist sympathizers, who gave our secrets to those wonderful Soviets who murdered 20 million of their own people last century. The Chinese communists tried to equal that number and the German national socialists did their best as well. They kept their thumb on their own people and all within the Soviet Block. Leftists always seem to enable the worst of humanity as they have with North Korea and Iran. Clinton allowed the Chinese to get all of our nuke secrets, much of which was passed on to Pakistan which was passed on to N. Korea. The Russians have gained much of their former conquests thanks largely to B. Hussein O. Obama's deal with Iran was a lot like Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, enabling anti-American ideologues to get on the clear path to nuclear technology.

Our world has a long history of slavery including the slavery of living under socialists governments or others that depend on total control. Most humans in history had to deal with that kind of government. When you don't understand history, you are much more likely to repeat it. I know enough about science to know you don't.

The bastardization of physics, atmospheric sciences, and meteorology is a leftist cause in the name of stopping the rich from getting richer, and forcing a Globalist economy (agenda) on people in the name of the falsehood of saving the planet from Global Warming/Climate Change where SCIENTIFIC ELITES, BIG GOVERNMENT ELITES, and BIG BANKING ELITES control the populace. Bankers and Government already have a stronghold. Throwing science into the equation only bolsters their positions.

Jim Z is exactly right. Climate Clowns control the agenda of the entire climate science community. They've been doing it since their globalization idea started with the establishment of the UN IPCC in 1988, which was guided by people like Jim Hansen (Mr. Global Warming Excitement).
