What the differences between Lutheran and episcopalian?

I like to listen to different pastors from different denominations sometimes. Right now that episcopal and lutheran. I have to go to Catholic Church with my brother family sometimes. I use to go every Sunday when I stayed with him in New York for a month and I enjoy it. BTW I go to non denominational church.

Interesting question Here is what I discern after speaking with the clergy of both.

Lutheran. I asked him about Martin Luther and the objections he made about the Catholic Church when he tacked the list of objections to a door on a church. (Look up this list and read them) Basically he objected to most of what the church was teaching because those teachings are not in the Bible. The Lutheran clergyman agreed that Luther did object but then said Luther recanted his objections. Now the Lutherans teach most of what Luther found to wrong as if Luther never existed.

Episcopal Church. I was assured by an Episcopal clergyman they can prove they are older than the Catholic church. Then I found out they traveled to the British Isles and took their religion with them in 597 CE. This under the direction of the Papacy (Catholic Church) They remained Catholic until the 16th century when they formed the Anglican Church. The US branch of the Anglicans are known as Episcopalian. Why the Episcopal clergy deny or ignore being Catholic for 1,000 years, I do not know.

Today, both the Lutheran and Episcopal churches continue to teach the same errors as the Catholic Church. When a Catholic proest was asked about teachings that are different from what is found in their own Bibles, he admitted they consider Church tradition as more accurate than the Bible.

    The Bottom Line is this.

The Lutherans, Episcopalians and the Jews of the 1st century have this in common. None of them teach Bible truth. As a matter of fact note what Jesus said about them at John 8:42-47. Read for yourself if you desire to know truth. For more Bible truth go to a local Kingdom Hall or visit JW.org. This last will cause most to thumb down my answer. These ones are afraid of truth.

Neither teaches the truth. Better go to a Bible studying church of Christ, not a denomination.

The Episcopalian Church is the American branch of a body known as "The Anglican Communion". The Anglican Communion is basically the Church of England and it's sister churches in other countries which share common beliefs and practices.

The Lutheran Church was founded when a German monk named Martin Luther sparked The Protestant Reformation (this was centuries before Dr. Martin Luther King was ever born).

    Isaiah 53:5

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

    Colossians 1:16

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Lutherans follow Dr. Martin Luther King, and Episcopalians follow the Epistles of Sarah Palin.
