Are these berries edible?

I just bought a house and I noticed there are a lot of "blueberry" bushes. The bushes do not lose their leaves and produce a pink flower which turns into a "blueberry." I also noticed the same bushes as part of the landscaping at a nearby shopping center. I googled blueberry bush for pictures and the leaves don t look the same. What plant is it and are the berries edible.

Take a branch with berries attached and head for a nursery to get correct answer/ID.

Don't EVER eat anything if you are not sure what it is. Some berries are good for birds but deadly for human beings. Your description is far too vague for any of us to dare tell you they are O.K. to eat.
