Funny that even those that profess to be Christian ignore what the Bible says, bob gave an exhalant answer yet they ignore what the Bible says! They like what their clergy tells them! That way they can continue the lifestyle they enjoy and confess their sins and then back to the lifestyle they enjoy! (2 Timothy 4:3, 4) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled. 4 They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories.

The true Almighty God whose name is Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

All the scriptures bob gave should convince any Christian but they stay goat like and Jesus says he’s going to put the goats on his left and the sheep on his right. Even the sheep will be judged because many have treated their fellow brothers/sister poorly (Ezekiel 34:17) “‘As for you, my sheep, this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah says: “I am about to judge between one sheep and another sheep, between the rams and the male goats.

What did Jesus say as to how he viewed his heavenly Father’s name (Matthew 6:9) “You must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.

Jesus said for us to sanctify his Father’s name, in order to do this you need to make it know for to sanctify is to make holy! But will the stubborn goats listen, only time will tell, many have already changed to a sheep like person and been set free of Satan’s world (1 John 5:19) We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.

Speaking about Jesus Hebrews 1:9 shows Jesus has a God (Hebrews 1:9) You loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with the oil of exultation more than your companions.” And John 17:3 says we need to know about God and his Son 3 This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:3 says God Almighty is head over Jesus 3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn, the head of a woman is the man; in turn, the head of the Christ is God!

Why? Many knowingly or unknowingly follow a superstitious dread of using the divine name in a worthless way. Or as the King James bible says "in vain". To avoid any possibility of MISUSING the divine name, the Jews early on ceased pronouncing it at all. Instead whenever to came to one of the 7000 plus places in the Bible where the divine name occurs they spoke aloud another word like God or Lord.

That tradition continues even today. But now another attack is gaining more and more support among many who label themselves Christian. These are telling their associates God does not have a name. But the majority deny the name entirely and instead claim Jesus is really God Almighty.

In addition there is a few who claim the divine name is NOT Jehovah, because they claim that term is a manufactured name starting in he middle ages. Instead they claim the divine name should be Yahweh which name was popularized in the 1600s.

Is the divine name in Hebrew pronounced Jehovah or Yahweh? Probably not. And similarly Jesus is not the way his name is pronounced in Hebrew.

However most fail to consider English as it should be. English is what is called a polyglot language because the source of its words and grammar comes from a number of other languages. Plus the fact English is a dynamic language. That is ever changing and expanding. For detail just look in any dictionary and see how any definitions different words have.

Your next question is, 'can we freely use the divine name in conversation'? Why not let the Bible, which is the Word of God tell us.

Isaiah 42:8 "I am Jehovah. That is my name; I give my glory to no one else,"

Zephaniah 3:9 "For then I will change the language of the peoples to a pure language, So that all of them may call on the name of Jehovah, To serve him shoulder to shoulder."

And note Jesus words and promise in John 17.

John17:6 "I have made your name known to the men whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have observed your word."

John 17:25, 26 "Righteous Father, the world has, indeed, not come to know you, but I know you, and these have come to know that you sent me. 26 I have made your name known to them and will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them."

Yes. You can and should use the divine name. Jehovah is the creator and author of the Bible. Is it not blasphemy to claim Jehovah is not God? Is it not blasphemy to claim Jehovah is not the God and Father of our lord Jesus who is the Christ (Messiah)?

Those who have unknowingly followed the blasphemous traditions of some of their associates can become clean before God. Note what is recorded for us by divine inspiration at Psalm 34:22..."Jehovah is redeeming the life of his servants; None of those taking refuge in him will be found guilty."

I don't think that God is stupid, that you must use a particular name for Him to know your thoughts and prayers.

maybe cause theyre not used to using it

Because that isn't his name. That name was invented in 1530.

Use it all you want. I don't believe it's his name. Some people just have to think they know stuff that nobody else knows. It's human nature.
