Other countries can require immigrants to have a marketable job skill, fill positions that they have a lack of competency in which is guaranteed to be impossible..
Require them to stay in the country for 5 years without either working, nor leaving..
And have enough money to live on without working for 5 years.
Some countries even tell immigrants to prostitute themselves out.

Recently, Trump did say he wants to limit immigrant status based on merit. able to speak English, and have a marketable skill for work. he said it maybe a month ago, you can look it up online. though, i don't think anything's happened yet with that.

Do you mean here in America? We used to. My mom is an immigrant and she got her citizenship, but they didn't just give it to her.
The reason we do not demand a marketable skill now is because they more people there are the more likely somebody will always be hungry and desperate enough to work for less and pay more for food.
