Now that Beltran finally got his ring, should he retire or hang on for 3,000 hits?

I'm a Beltran fan, and would love to see him make his place in the history books. But in the end, it's his decision. He's been around awhile, he could go either way.

If he can find some sucker to pay him to just swing a bat 4 times a game, why not?

You're assuming the 3,000 hits will assure Beltran of a place in the HoF but will he really deserve it?

Think about it: 3,000 hits divided by 22 years equals 136.4 hits a year. Look at the guys who had that many hits this year...would you consider any of them HoF caliber players?

Hanging on to pad your stats is what a douche does. Hall of Fame players get their numbers because they're productive year in and year out.

Beltran is a parasite, not a HoFer.

he needs 225 more hits. at least two more years to do that. at his age, it'd have to be a AL team to sign him to use as a DH.

    I feel he should retire

I don't think he has the three years left in him he needs to reach 3000.

Now that Beltran finally got his ring, Beltran should do what he wants to do. Opinions from people who don't know him don't mean a thing.
