Curly Girl Method?
My hair has heat damage! What do I do? I want it healthy again. I have been looking into DevaCurl. I only co-wash and havent used heat in about a year, my hair still has damage on the ends, is all frizzy, and doesnt last. I want to start taking biotin and doing scalp massages too. Any other advice? Is devacurl good?

Hey, gurly! So glad to hear you've been a natural for a year. I know the struggles when it comes to frizzy ends and hairstyles that won't last. My best advice for you is to get a trim. I know that seems like what everyone says but GIRL, I'm telling you it works. Getting a trim of 1/2 inch or an inch (depending on how attached you are to your length lol) every 6 months will bring life and bounce to your hair. I didn't trim my hair in two years and I recently got it cut and er ma Gerd it looks amazing. No frizzy ends, my hairstyles last a little bit longer, and the overall appearance is just gorgeous. As for taking biotin, I'm not too very educated with that. Scalp massages though? Yes, Lawd Please. That will help with increasing your blood flow in your scalp to promote hair growth. Also, another note for helping your curls and hairstyles last longer is putting your hair in a pineapple at night and damping your hair in the morning, because that will reactivate the product you put in your hair when you styled it. My curls usually last 4-5 days before I have to put it up in a bun because it will start looking like...let's not go there lol. To prevent split ends is to use protective styles like braids and buns, as well as finger detangling, and keeping your ends hydrated. If you cant finger detangle because your hair won't let you then you can use the Denman brush. I have ultra defining gel from DevaCurl and it smells amazing, but it just doesn't give me that hold I want (and need because if I don't use the right gel, R.I.P.). So I use Eco styler gel with olive oil. Be a product junkie and try out different curly haired products to see which one works the best for you, because every curly gurly is different in their preferences and needs. There are so many helpful curly gurls out on youtube too, so check that out as well. Hope this helps, and good luck! :3

You need to start with a good trim. Then every 6 wks after that. The only way you'll return your hair to healthy is to slowly have it trimmed out while you're growing out your hair. I don't know anything about DevaCurl.
