How long does it take for a cactus to grow from a seed?

in the UK on a window ledge with plenty of light and cactus compost in a decent sized pot.

    Depends on the species, but usually 12-14 weeks for it to take the form of a cacti. Also when germinating seeds the rate of germination for cacti is 30%. So it means of you put ten seeds in soil with water only three are likely to grow.
