Is link sausage served with the casing on?

Comparing sausage found at a:

Ballpark/ stadium stand, diner, and a elite restaurant.

How about charcuterie meats and cured sausages?

I know the casings used are edible, but I assume some people find the casings unpleasant

Update:

Which is more common, casing or no casing?

most all are served in the casings.

It can be served without though.

Some breakfast sausages don't have casings, some do.

Hot dogs don't have casings on them as they have been removed.

It depends on if the casing is natural or not. Of course a plastic casing is not eatable.
