Research different cooking techniques through media i.e. periodicals, hard back books, internet, and tv.

I learnt cooking from my mother. When I feel like to eat something, I asked my mother to tell me the way of preparing the dish and day by day I have learned to prepare some delicious dish

    Father is a chef.

Mother could do wonders with so little.

    Grandparent's recipes are nice.

I was born in 1980, so she was home taking care of us and her ideas for meals were really cool.

Google can help, still I bother my father when I have a question.

Oh, and if you don't own it yet, buy the Better Homes cookbook.

By cooking.  By cooking and reading and trying things out and cooking them over and over again.

I am a terrific cook.  I am still learning to cook.  I still try and tweak recipes all the time.  I love the internet and all the great stuff I learn about food there.

Cooking is partly about a "feel" for it, partly about learning by reading or taking classes and partly about practice or experience.

When I am excited about a new recipe I will make it over and over until I master it.  When I learned to make seared beefsteak with green peppercorn cream sauce I made it every night for a week.  After that, I can make it without even thinking about it much.  That is one of my favorite "show off" meals because it's so delicious and you flame the pan with brandy toward the end of making the sauce.

I read cookbooks. But, now there are recipies on-line.

I learned to cook through reading ingredients and cooking methods and through trial + error.

W  all know what we like to eat, so I began to first learn to cook the foods I liked.

Everyone tells me I am a good cook. I think it is my desire to learn to cook and be creative while doing so, plus my crazy love of dishes and table settings to top it all off. To me, entertaining is fun!

My mom and dad both taught me how to make some dishes--but mostly it's just trial and error!

The best way is to learn by doing. And don't be afraid of messing up. Even the best chef's in the world mess up occasionally. I would NOT recommend a culinary school-way too much money unless it is a chosen profession.

Probably the best way to learn is to do it with someone else-whether they can cook or not. Experiment.

Watching and helping both parents. I was cleaning and gutting fish before I was ten years old, so I knew very well how to handle a knife. I learned the basics long before I left home and my skills and knowledge just kept improving over time.

Very basic baking and cooking skills from my mom.   A lot of kitchen safety stuff...knife handling, using stove top, oven, etc.

Took a home ec class in high school and learned quick breads down pat...biscuits, cornbread, muffins, etc.    That makes me sound 100 years old, right?   LOL...

Learned a lot from cooking with friends or family members.

    Following directions of a recipe.

Experimenting on my own - trial and error.

I'm STILL learning when I get new equipment like smoker and pressure cooker...
