Will you try to befriend your governor, senator or mayor in Facebook?
Do you befriend or like your mayor or governor or senator in Facebook, and get them to help you solve some problems you face? For example, you and your community may feel you all need a bus service to another part of the town and you put this query in his Facebook page. Or some developer may be developing an estate near your neighbourhood and it is creating an ecological disaster, will you put this problem in their Facebook pages and hope they will help you resolve the problem?

Why befriend anyone in facebook since the label "friend" simply doesn't apply? Facebook offers a way to be comfortable ignoring all but those people that share your views (this is what is meant by an "echo chamber") but such isolation carries a great risk of losing touch with reality and acting out your most primitive and sadistic character traits ( the teen suicides being one clear manifestation of this).
