Is Smokey the Bear a cryptid?
Smokey the Bear is a (possibly) fictional creature with abnormal physical traits and possibly occult intelligence and power of the mind. He's something of a protector, a mentor, warning us about the dangers of fire and insisting that we respect nature. He also has been shown as protecting children, and coming down to warn humans of impending danger, much like the Mothman. At the very least, if he is not a Cryptid, is he some sort of Yokai or demon?

The Original Smokey the Bear was from a news story of a baby bear that had survived a forest fire, and whose paws were burned. He was the symbol of the cost of man made forest fires, to show people the cost of their carelessness.
It evolved into a cartoon character.

smokey the bear, killed my family, you think he warns of the danger of forest fires? no, it's all a sham, he acts like he is perfectly harmless, them WHAM, eats my entire family, gonna shoot that sick hairy fat bastard if I ever see him again
