How much memory should itunes use?
My wife's newish laptop is struggling with itunes. I checked out the task manager and saw it was using between 400 and 850 MB of memory at any given time. This seems WAY too much. I saw several other online questions about it with very little detail about how to rectify, but even those people were saying 150-300MB seemed like too much.
Ideas? Help? Or just suck it up, because this is just another great Apple product I should be ecstatic about...?

iTunes connects to internet and downloads tons of info. if you aren't using it, you should close it to free up memory.

RAM Usage. ITunes requires your system to have at least 512MB of RAM to run, though it should not be using this much when it is running. As it caches your content, downloads podcasts and organizes your library it will start to use more memory, but it shouldn't use so much that your computer starts to lag or slow down.

Apple software is designed for Apple devices. Your wife’s newish laptop should use "great" windows "programs". iTunes runs beautifully in my iMac 🖥, its natural habitat 😉
