SSD Question?

I have a laptop from 2011 that Im upgrading, I got more ram, a battery, lan card. I think an SAD will be a great improvement. I m looking at the 850 evo but I m wondering if there is any advantage besides size and life to choosing 500gigs over 250gigs? Thanks.

(Anything I should look out for when upgrading such an old laptop?)

The 500GB 850 EVO has slightly faster random read and random write speeds (which is the type of drive access akin to how an OS would utilize the drive) however you really wouldn't notice a difference. The sequential read and write speeds (which is akin to how a user would utilize the drive) are identical across the 850 EVO line. Other than the 500GB also having a larger TBW warranty (which makes sense given it's a larger drive), both drives are identical.

A laptop from 2011 is starting to come to the end of its life so other components may fail. I wouldn’t spend too much on this lappy.
