Ask any friends you have who babysit how much they get, or ask your parents to ask some of their friends and neighbors how much they pay for sitters.
Sitters in my neighborhood have no trouble getting $15 an hour, but we are in a pretty well-off neighborhood.

I started babysitting at twelve, and charged $7 dollars for one kid, $10 for 2, and $15 for 3. I think those are pretty reasonable starting prices when you're young. But, I was Red-Cross certified. Which I'd highly suggest doing if you want to start babysitting. Parents are more likely to trust you with their kid, and you'll be able to charge more for it. You can sign up for a class here:

Hope this helps :)

At 14, you would charge $5 per hour to be a mother's helper. You should not be left completely in charge at only 14.

Where I live I UK we would need a babysitter for the 14 year old as it is illegal for anyone under the age of 16 to be left with children and not have a first aid certificate. Good Luck

Work out how often this gig is likely to be, because you don't want to charge so much they wont ask you again. Then you want to work out the amount of hours it is likely to be each time, so that it is also worth while to you.
Finally, you want to work out how hard it is going to be regarding the children you are babysitting. If they are going to play you up, then you need to ask for more right at the beginning, because otherwise it looks like you hate doing it!
Weigh up all those factors, AND of course whether it is for family or neighbours, as that too makes a difference, and you should be able to work out for yourself exactly what you want to charge!
