shoe size question?

i am trying to find some boots. i was really wanting some carhartt boots and i got a size 11W. when i am at work with them, they feel too long/big. when i am just doing everyday stuff, they feel alright. i tried on a size 10W and they felt better in the length area but they were too tight in the width.

my foot felt squeezed not overall but just in one particular spot.

what should i do? would they break in or should i try a 10.5W or just try another brand overall

I would recommend keeping the 11W, since they feel good most of the time. You can buy shoe inserts to wear while at work so they feel less loose there. You can try a couple different types--I personally like the silicon ones, but rubber foam is good, too.
