Am I normal?

So, I am a 21 year old male.

Stress and depression are part of my daily stride. I live in a seeming constant fear of losing what little in my life actually brings me joy. I ve attempted suicide...let s say more than once.

But when the anxiety and stress gets worse than usual, I sometimes have accidents when I sleep. When I m really down, I sometimes wear a diaper as a measure. Sometimes it turns out I used it, sometimes not .

Its rare that it DOES happen, but it happened recently when I wet myself in my sleep, following a very stressful and miserable week of work and home follies.

Is this normal to happen? I m torn with embarrassment and am afraid to tell anyone. I m not going to tell my friends because I don t have any.

Am I the only one who wets themselves from stress and anxiety?

I would hope not. To be so, so boring maybe. Also, what doesn't kill you may make you freakier. Just not cool, considering your risking a chance to be a vegetable who they will pull the plug on with life support. I was very lucky to be a fighter back then. How many times did I die as a TBI survivor?

No this is not at all normal. Depression means your brain is not producing sufficient serotonin. Depression is common but easy to treat. So tell a dr. how you feel and ask for Zoloft, an excellent antidepressant. It takes 2-3 wks for your body to adjust to it during which time you will have trouble staying asleep. But, after that, you will become a relaxed, confident, happy, healthy person.

No, you are not the only one who wets themselves from stress and anxiety. But you really need to go see your doctor, get a good check up, and be open and honest with him about the problems you are having. He may prescribe a medication that will reduce your anxiety and depression, which in turn will make you feel better and have more restful, dry sleep.

Wetting from stress is not normal for most people that I know. (Not that people tell me how often they wet the bed). It does sound like you have an unusually high level of stress in your life. I would seek some guidance on either removing the causes of the stress for you or removing yourself from those causes. If you're unable to pinpoint a cause of the stresses, get some professional help. It will get better. You will succeed!

I don't think so... Also, have you been diagnosed by a professional with depression/anxiety? You should consider therapy...or seeing a doctor...they can help you get better. Even if you are embarrassed it is worth getting better.(doctors have seen a lot and they wont judge you.) If you are struggling through something alone it makes it like 10x worse. You should try and talk to someone.

i dont think its normal but i dont think youre the only one, maybe you should see a doctor to find out why that happens and it wouldnt hurt to talk to a counselor about it either
