It should be a difference and an umbrella of similarity or an exception under an umbrella of things that are the same.
1. Most people occasionally get upset for various reasons, but XYZ has an amazing degree of equanimity.

3. Stories of an amazing professor who changed a student's life are common. In modern education, though, there is enormous pedagogic value in teachers using technology to facilitate learning by exposing students to top teachers, facilitating learning rather than being the one amazing professor in a student's life.
In any case, it should be the pattern of "things are usually this way, but in this exceptional case they're actually some other way.
