President Trump says he supports gun control reform, thoughts?
He says he will push for comprehensive background checks, raise the minimum wage to buy guns to 21, and ban bump stocks. I personally will be happy once I see it actually happen, though it is a good sign to see him saying this.
Thoughts?

I'll believe it when I see it.
PLUS he is NOT addressing the issue of assault weapons, like the AR15.

Haven't you seen enough of Trump to know that nothing he says means anything at all? You want gun control? Sure, I'm for gun control. Until tomorrow when I'm talking to someone who wants LESS gun control and then I'll be all for that. It's a combination of political ignorance and total lack of principles.
Actually Trump's got it pretty easy. He can't sign a gun control reform bill until Congress sends him one. And they're not about to. So it doesn't matter what he says. He can say whatever he likes and it doesn't matter!

My thoughts are.......he's a constant and persistent liar, and can't remember what he said hour to hour, much less day to day or week to week.
Any comments he has made will be self -contradicted within the week and denied by Sarah Sanders.

I think it’s great he’s speaking out and wants to do something about this. AND that he is listening to the survivors.
THIS is an effort to make America safe. Whether or not you think it’ll work is a separate issue.

Newtown shooter took mommy's guns after he killed her. She also did him a solid by training him on her AR-15!

First, gun control is unconstitutional. Second, it accomplishes nothing. Absolutely nothing. People who support gun control obviously know nothing about reality. The kid in Florida went through a background check and purchased his guns legally. The mass shooter in Las Vegas went through a background check and purchased his guns legally. Gun control will not stop these mass shootings.

None of that will stop evil and violence; and it starts to open the door to gutting the second amendment.

Well I'm a Democrat so my answer won't be a big surprise. I support the 2nd amendment but I also support these common sense measures. I agree that I'll celebrate once it actually becomes law. I am shocked to hear him announce this but it's a good step forward toward a safer America. In addition to these ideas the only things I would add is pass a red flag law and mandate all states to notify the government and FBI of possible threats (12 states don't, including Florida).
The one thing I do not support is arming teachers. Doesn't work. There was an armed person at the florida shooting but he was afraid to engage because he only had a handgun. Plus most teachers say it's not a good idea.
Also, Trump lies nonstop. He's probably just saying it to appeal to most voters. He doesn't actually have to sign a bill until congress passes one, and the republicans don't want gun reform. That's why I say I'll believe it when I see it.
