Ovulated a week before period is expected!?

I know I ovulated a week before my period is expected because my breasts are always sensitive when I ovulate! They are sensitive and I had unprotected sex.

Can I get pregnant even though my period is due in a week?? Or will my period come later than expected if I don’t get pregnant?

Thanks

If you’ve ovulated you can get pregnant if you had unprotected sex around that time.

Yes you can get pregnant. Unprotected sex leads to pregnancy. If you don't want to be pregnant, use birth control.

Late ovulation is the most common cause of late periods.

Pregnancy can only happen when sex happens close enough to ovulation. Too soon and the sperm die before the egg arrives. Too late and the egg dies before the sperm arrives. Sperm lives for about five days inside the uterus and the egg only lives 12 to 24 hours after ovulation.

Using things like tender breasts to try to predict ovulation is not accurate enough. If you are not tracking your basal body temperature every day, then you really don't know when you ovulate. You are only guessing.

Although your breasts being sore means nothing, because that's a common symptom of any hormonal change.

Yes you can get pregnant when you ovulate. If you know you were ovulating and chose to have sex anyway - that's called trying to conceive. Wait two to three weeks or after a missed period to test. If your period starts, don't bother testing, because that means you aren't pregnant.
