Will there ever be flying cars?

I believe someday, I have been reading in the news of companies working on models.

There are flying cars now.

The question is - will they ever be practical and widespread?

I think they will never be practical or widespread.

People have a great deal of trouble controlling vehicles when they only have to worry about 2 dimensions. Given 3 dimensions, there would be thousands of crashes every day, because people are apparently unable to pay attention to the critical tasks of driving.

Who would set up "traffic" lanes for flying cars? You cannot just have everyone flying wherever they want. It would be total chaos.

They already exist. Their are copter cars, cars with wings, etc.

Only as playthings for the very rich. There's enough bad driving on the roads as there is, can you imagine the carnage if the cars were flying?

there are companies in Germany and the US working on these, and then Russia has a working prototype that flies, drives and swims. So the Blade Runner is right around the corner.
