Both are the heart's pumping chambers so they empty into arteries, which carry blood away from the heart. The left ventricle empties oxygenated blood into the aorta and this will supply the systemic circulation. The right ventricle empties de-oxygenated into the main pulmonary artery (a.k.a. pulmonary trunk) and this carries blood to the pulmonary circulation.
